These five steps will make it simple to get started.

1. Determine who your target market is & what key words are important to your company. The right key words make your search engine placement better. It’s important to know what key words your customers use to locate you on the web.  Search engine placement is largely determined by key words or phrases.  Say for example that you sell gift baskets online. A google search on the words “gift baskets” results in 53,000,000 hits. Narrowing the search to “corporate gift baskets” results in 4,230,00. Still a lot. Narrow the search again to “gourmet corporate gift baskets” turn up 855,000 hits.  A little better. Ask your customers if they were searching for you with google…what words would they use to search.
